A 9-year-old German Shepherd called Sarge turned into a surrogate and kind mother for numerous parentless fawns in his area.
This is Sarge. He helps save injured and orphaned wildlife in his area. I’m told he loves all animals, but he gets most attached to fawns.
Dogs’ remarkable ability to be affectionate, compassionate, and loyal will continue to inspire people. Their caring nature warmly embraces those in need of comfort, care, and protection.
This extends not only to humans but also to other living creatures. For instance, Sarge, a gentle German Shepherd, lovingly looks after abandoned fawns.
Sarge’s owner, Cheryl Stephan, is a compassionate woman who has graciously taken in numerous abandoned animals over the years, including several young fawns.
Among all the adopted animals, Sarge displayed remarkable amiability and kindness, but there was a special connection with Buckwheat, as he was Cheryl’s first orphaned deer adoption.
The moment Sarge first encountered this little creature, he was overwhelmed with affection. Instantly captivated by the fawn, he became its devoted protector.
The obedient dog wholeheartedly took on the responsibility of caring for Buckwheat, stepping into the role of a “mom” for the fawn with incredible speed.
The loyal dog always kept a close watch on Buckwheat, ensuring his safety wherever he wandered. When the fawn reached maturity and ventured out on his own, Sarge felt compelled to find and bring him back.
Cheryl had to release Buckwheat into the wild once he had grown and become strong. This deeply saddened the affectionate dog, and even Cheryl acknowledged that Sarge might not treat other animals with the same level of friendliness as he did with Buckwheat.
However, Cheryl’s worries were proven wrong. When she brought in more fawns for rehabilitation, Sarge’s empathy resurfaced. He quickly assumed the role of a caring nanny, tending to these incredible creatures with the same level of kindness and devotion he had shown to Buckwheat.
It’s heartwarming to see how he cares for other animals and offers his help without hesitation. If only more human beings could emulate Sarge’s kindness and willingness to assist those in need, the world would undoubtedly be a better place.
