Officers from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in Florida recently saved a puppy from drowning. They were leaving a call when they heard whimpering coming from a septic drain and discovered a dog that was struggling to stay afloat.
The officers quickly jumped into action and saved the puppy, who was a stray. One of the officers, James Gettings, felt a special connection to the puppy and believed that it was destiny for him to adopt the adorable fuzzy since they found him.
The officers cleaned the dog and looked for his family, but were unable to locate them. Officer Gettings decided to take the puppy home and gave him the name Puddle.
Since then, Puddle has been living with Officer Gettings and is growing and developing well. The officers’ caring actions are a reminder of the importance of paying attention to the small sounds and taking action to help animals in need. Puddle’s life was saved thanks to their quick thinking and compassion.
