In Pompano, Florida, a distressing incident occurred where two dogs were reportedly found tied to utility poles. The responsibility of investigating the situation fell into the hands of Officer Angela Laurella.
Due to the absence of surveillance cameras in the vicinity, nobody could determine how long the dogs had been left there or who was responsible for their plight. However, Officer Laurella quickly recognized the urgency of the situation, as the outside temperature had already soared past 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

When they found him, he was bound to a pole with an extremely short leash. Upon approaching Liam, the dog exhibited a heart-rending display of vulnerability and trust. He lowered his head and gently placed a paw in the officer’s hand, seemingly asking for a comforting touch. Roman described that Liam seemed to shrink, and he extended his paw in a plea for help when she approached him quietly. Following multiple visits to the veterinarian, Liam, a small 17-pound pocket bulldog, is now on the road to recovery at Roman’s residence. His health is steadily improving, and he is displaying better eating habits, consuming food more efficiently than before.
Roman expressed, “He receives an abundance of love all the time.” Liam’s body is getting accustomed to regular feeding on an hourly schedule. With volunteers preparing large batches of boiled chicken and rice, Liam is thoroughly enjoying his meals and having a great time during his recovery process. The dedication and care from the rescue team have contributed significantly to Liam’s progress and overall well-being.
Despite the challenges that lie ahead, including multiple veterinary appointments, Liam has brought immense joy to those who saved him.
“He is filled with love for everyone, and he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body,” Roman affectionately stated. “That, to me, speaks volumes because he remains so appreciative and forgiving despite all the hardships he has endured.”
